Chapter 2
The man couldn’t believe his luck: pay day, the start of a long weekend, and a hot woman to share his bed for the night. He’d always known that living opposite the city’s most popular club was the best idea he’d ever had. As soon as she walked through the door she zeroed in on him; the other guys didn’t stand a chance. They’d talked, drank together, danced - well, pressed their bodies close and gyrated in time to the music - and now they were back at his place. He was a lucky bastard.
She didn’t hang around. He was only in the bathroom for a moment, and in that time she’d undressed and made herself comfortable on his bed. His heart thumped wildly as he looked at her, afraid that he wouldn’t be able to hold back if he didn’t have her soon. She licked her lips in anticipation as he slid onto the bed, pushing him back against the mattress and kissing him hungrily as her hands tore at his clothing. It drove him wild when she ran her tongue down his neck, and bit him playfully. He groaned with pleasure as she bit harder; screamed in agony as her fangs punctured his jugular and released the hot stream of blood ….
The maid found his body the following morning; Loki and Rebecca arrived at the scene ten minutes later. As with the other victims there were two small puncture wounds on the man’s neck, and no trace of blood was visible on the sheets.
“Looks as if this one was expecting to have fun with our killer,” Rebecca said as Loki read through his notes.
Loki didn’t reply. Instead he pulled a scrap of paper from his pocket and dialled the telephone number scrawled on it. It was answered on the second ring.
“Our killer has turned their attention to men.” he spoke into the receiver, “I still don’t believe that vampires are responsible, but I’m willing to humour you. It’s time for you to tell us everything that you think you know, Mr Bergman.”
Note: While I was posting this chapter and adding links on a few writing forums, something interesting happened - at least it was interesting to me, being a mature geology student currently on a break. Just before 1am my computer desk and monitor started shaking for a few seconds, and when I checked the news this morning I discovered that the cause was a 5.3 earthquake, centred in Lincolnshire and felt across much of the UK! Back to the story, I’m hoping to have Chapter 3 online at the end of the week or over the weekend. I’ve had most of the screenshots for Chapter 3 since the summer, which is why there won’t be such a long wait

Woo! Chapter two! I am so slow.
But, I did love the ‘Dracula groupie’ comment, hehe. Looks like Loki wants to learn the hard way. So be it.
Silly men. They should know better… it’s always the hot women in the clubs or the hot men. They’ve got fangs, dang it! Stop thinking with your nether regions!
I guess they should get some thanks–the vampires, that is–for trimming down the stupidity amongst the population.
Tanya: LOL, and now Chapter 3 is ready!
I’m glad you liked the ‘Dracula groupie’ comment as I want Loki to have a sense of humour of some kind (even if he’s a sarcastic so and so in the process). And yes, the men are always thinking with the other parts of their anatomy rather than what’s between their ears - they never learn do they? The vampires could be very busy ….

Hi, its me again, i left a comment in the first chapter, remember? i’m way too late, i didn’t have time to checkout your site lately. I love the ‘vampire groupie’ word you use, very funny! Why these vampire started terrorising this town, i wonder.
Tanya: Hi again Karen, thanks for reading and and commenting
I couldn’t use Loki Beaker without keeping some of the characteristics that Maxis gave him! He’s much nicer than he used to be, so I thought he should have a dry sense of humour as a trade off for not being mean and argumentative
Why the vampires chose that town (Chronicle City to be exact) will slowly be revealed ….
